I recently wore a skirt to a meeting, and threw on a pair of Spanx underneath it because…they’re awesome. I love that it instantly gives me the appearance of not being on a steady diet of carbs, and that I might actually be wearing the right size.
Over the weekend, I mentioned to my hubby that I really need to get back on a regular exercise schedule. It’s been a long time, and by a long time I mean my entire life. I have brief stints of crazy where I get up at 5:00 a.m. and work out for a few months, but that inevitably passes because I like to stay up late reading more than I like everything else in the world. I also hate exercising more than everything else in the world.
The truth is, I know that I need to work out, good for my health, blah blah blah, I just get so BORED, and it’s hard, and I hate being so sweaty. I also think about all the things I need to be getting done, things that are more fun, like doing the laundry, or getting a root canal.
My husband is awesome about taking care of himself, he works out every day, eats right, gets enough sleep. He is my biggest cheerleader when it comes to my health, so he’s excited about the prospect of my potentially working out with him again. Now I’m thinking about whether or not I’m going to try convincing him that speed reading is a sport, or that I look fabulous with full body Spanx on underneath my swimwear the next time we’re at the beach.
What are you all doing to stay in shape? Does anyone else out there hate to work out as much as I do?
